How to Make Lemon Poppyseed Scones

Ingredients

– 2 cup flours – ¼ cup white granulated sugar – ⅛ cup brown sugar – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1 teaspoon baking soda – ½ teaspoon salt – ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed – 2 tablespoons poppy seeds – ¼ cup lemon juice – ¼ cup milk – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step 1

Prep a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then, Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Add the flour, brown sugar, white sugar, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Whisk until the dry ingredients are combined.

Step 3

Add in the cubed butter and use clean hands to squeeze the butter and dry ingredients together to create a crumbly mixture.

Step 4

Mix in the poppy seeds.

Step 5

Add in the egg, lemon juice, milk, and vanilla extract, and mix together until a dough forms.

Step 6

On a clean, flat surface, transfer the dough to it and form a round of the dough to about a 10×10 inch disc.
